The antidiabetic drug togliflozin is an SGLT-2 inhibitor drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It was formerly known as CSG452. This is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. The advantage lies in the selectivity of the drug. Even higher, CSG452 exerts its hypoglycemic effects by inhibiting the reabsorption of glucose by the kidneys and inducing the excretion of excess glucose in the blood into the urine.

Biological activity:

Tofogliflozin (CSG452) is a novel sodium-glucoseco-transporter2 (SGLT2) inhibitor with IC50 values of 2.9nM and 8444nM for hSGLT2 and hSGLT1 respectively.
